Michael Debo Joins Isabella Bank to Support Growth of Bay County Businesses
Isabella Bank is expanding its commercial banking presence in Bay County with the addition of veteran banker Michael Debo, whose nearly 40 years of experience and deep local connections will help support the growth and financing needs of area businesses.
Debo joined Isabella Bank in September as a vice president and senior commercial loan officer. Based out of Isabella Bank’s Loan Office on Washington Avenue in downtown Bay City, he will focus on developing business relationships and identifying commercial lending opportunities throughout Bay County.
“I’m excited to help local businesses access the financial resources they need to grow and succeed while strengthening Isabella Bank’s presence in the Bay City community,” said Debo.
Born and raised in Bay City, Debo has deep roots in the Great Lakes Bay Region. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Northwood University and is a graduate of the Bay Area Chamber of Commerce Leadership Bay County program. He is also a recipient of the organizations Leadership Alumni Community Service Award.
Community involvement is a cornerstone of Isabella Bank’s culture and Debo’s long-standing commitment to local organizations reflect that value. He currently serves as chair of the Bay Area Chamber Foundation; treasurer of the Bay City Economic Development Corporation, Brownfield Redevelopment Authority, and All Saints Athletic Club; and he is a member and past president of Bay City Morning Rotary.
His previous leadership roles include serving as chair for the Bay Area Chamber of Commerce and Junior Achievement of Northeast Michigan, as well as treasurer of Bay Future, Inc.
“Michael’s strong relationships, local knowledge and commitment to the Bay City community make him an outstanding addition to our team,” said Michael Colby, east region president of Isabella Bank. “His experience and understanding of the region will help us deliver responsive financial solutions that support the success of local businesses and organizations.”
Outside of his professional and leadership roles, Debo is a proud father of three grown daughters. He has also coached high school basketball for more than 30 years, including 19 seasons as a varsity boys and girls coach at Bay City All Saints Catholic School.
