Isabella Bank understands, mistakes happen, deposits may be delayed, and unforeseen expenses leave less in your account than needed.  We have options to help.

Isabella Bank has three options to help cover a potential overdraft.

  1. Overdraft Protection
  2. Checkmate Plus -  A Checking Line of Credit
  3. Account to Account Transfer

Overdraft Protection1 - This is our standard overdraft service, we provide a limited reserve to cover items such as checks, ACH/automated payment items, and recurring debit transactions.

Overdraft Protection with Reg E Opt-In adds coverage for ATM and everyday debit  card transactions to our standard coverage.  To Opt-In for this extended coverage, Click Here.

Checkmate Plus: Checking Line of Credit2 is an unsecured line of credit attached to your checking account.  This line of credit helps to manage unforeseen expenses and give you a peace of mind knowing you are covered against overdrafts that can occur. You can access your Checkmate Plus by writing a check, using your debit card, or by visiting your nearest office.  The line of credit will auto-transfer to your account in increments of $100 to cover overdrafts. Click Here to Apply for our Checkmate Plus Line of Credit.

Account to Account Transfer3 is an established auto transfer between another Isabella Bank checking, savings, or money market account.  The funds from the designated deposit account are automatically transferred into your checking account when your checking account is depleted to cover possible overdrafts. Please stop by your local Isabella Bank office or call 800.651.9111 for more information.

1 Your account is subject to our standard overdraft practices. If your account lacks sufficient funds to pay a check, preauthorized transfer, or other debit activity presented for payment as determined by your actual (ledger) balance, we may either return the item (non-sufficient funds) or pay the item (creating an overdraft) at our discretion, which means we do not guarantee that we will always authorize and pay any type of transaction. Under our standard overdraft practices we may authorize and pay overdrafts for checks and other transactions, including automatic bill payments, made using your checking account number. You should let us know if you do not want us to pay overdrafts on your account. If we do not authorize and pay an overdraft, your transaction will be declined. Unless you tell us otherwise, we will not authorize and pay overdrafts for everyday debit card transactions or ATM transactions. Overdraft Protection with Reg E Opt In extends coverage to include the payment of ATM and everyday Debit Card transactions if you provide your consent to have these types of transactions covered. Whether we pay an item (creating an overdraft) or return the item (non-sufficient funds [NSF]) we reserve the right to charge a fee of $32 per item. It is possible to be charged a fee more than once for the same item.  For consumer accounts only, we will not charge you an overdraft/NSF item fee if your account is overdrawn by $10 or less and there is a limit of $160 per day on the total overdraft/NSF item fees we can charge you. Also, if the account remains overdrawn for ten (10) consecutive days a $5 continuous overdraft charge will be assessed daily, starting on the eleventh (11th) day, until the account is no longer overdrawn. This fee will not post on days with activity on the account. The Continuous Overdraft Charges are not assessed on Non-Business Days. We also offer overdraft service options, such as a link to a savings account, or line of credit (subject to credit approval) which may be less expensive than our standard overdraft practices. Isabella Bank pays or returns items as disclosed in your Retail Account Agreement and Disclosure in section 14 titled Non-Sufficient Funds and Overdrafts. The order in which we process and pay items may not be in the same order in which they occur which can affect the total amount of overdraft fees charged. You can remove Overdraft Protection and/or Overdraft Protect with extend coverage at any time by contacting us.
